Welcome to Insight Britain. This page explains who we are, what we stand for and how we work — so you can read with confidence. Use it to understand our editorial process, our commercial transparency and how to get in touch.
Who are we?
Insight Britain is an independent digital news and explainer publisher covering UK news, policy, business, technology, health and lifestyle for international English-speaking audiences. Owned and operated by Valletta Civic Media Ltd, a Malta-based digital media and public-affairs publishing company (Malta Business Registry), our registered office is at 42 Harbour View Business Centre, Level 3, Triq San Bastjan, Valletta VLT 1472, Malta.
Our editorial mission is to deliver clear, practical and carefully sourced journalism that helps readers understand complex British affairs without spin or oversimplification. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication. We combine primary research with reputable secondary sources to provide authoritative coverage you can trust.
What do we cover?
We cover the major areas that matter to anyone wanting to understand the United Kingdom today: UK news, policy and politics; business and the economy; technology; health; and lifestyle and culture. Each topic is overseen by a dedicated editor or correspondent with relevant expertise.
- Politics & Public Affairs – Marcus Walsh covers Westminster, councils and policy.
- Business & Economy – Helen Carter reports on the economy, business and the cost of living.
- Culture & Features – Rachel Dunn leads coverage of culture, lifestyle and society.
- Newsroom – Oliver Sutton commissions daily news and reviews headlines.
- Standards & Fact-Checking – Sofia Lindberg oversees fact-checking and source verification.
How do we ensure accuracy?
We follow a rigorous editorial process that puts human judgement at the centre. Every piece is written by a named journalist, reviewed by an editor and independently fact-checked by our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Sofia Lindberg, before publication. AI-assisted tools may support research, drafting, formatting or transcription, but they never replace human editorial control — every article is approved by a human editor. AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines or expert profiles.
For full details, see our Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Policy. If you spot an error, please contact our corrections team at corrections@insightbritain.co.uk.
How this works in practice
Take a typical article on the cost-of-living crisis. Helen Carter, Business & Economy Correspondent, researches the topic using official ONS data, bank reports and interviews with economists. She drafts the piece with the help of an AI tool that suggests background summaries — but she verifies every figure and quote herself. The draft is sent to Oliver Sutton, News Editor, who reviews the structure and headline. It then goes to Sofia Lindberg, who checks all sources and confirms that no claims are unsupported. Edward Davies Bennett, Editor-in-Chief, gives final approval. The article publishes with Helen’s byline, a clear date and a link to the source data. If a reader questions a statistic, the corrections team can trace it back through our internal log within hours.
Who is responsible?

The editorial team includes Oliver Sutton (News Editor), Marcus Walsh (Politics & Public Affairs Editor), Helen Carter (Business & Economy Correspondent), Rachel Dunn (Culture & Features Editor) and Sofia Lindberg (Standards & Fact-Checking Lead).
